Artificial turf and hardscaping in Aurora, Colorado
Aurora has some of the Front Range's tightest thinking on water, and it shows in the yards. Much of southeast Aurora is newer subdivisions with HOAs and builder-grade lawns that cost a lot to keep green. Turf, rock and pavers are usually the upgrade, and most of the work is planning a yard the HOA will approve on clay that moves.

What is different about Aurora yards
Water rules are part of the design
Aurora has been one of the more aggressive Front Range cities about limiting thirsty grass, especially in new development. The rules change, so we check current city code and your HOA's covenants before we draw anything, rather than designing a yard that cannot be built.
New-build lots come with thin topsoil and clay
Builder grading usually leaves a few inches of topsoil over compacted clay, sloped just enough for a lawn. Turf and pavers need a proper base and real fall away from the foundation, so regrading is often part of the scope.
Wind off the plains
Eastern Aurora gets steady wind. It dries a lawn out fast and blows loose material around. Secured turf edges and properly sized rock rather than fine gravel keep a yard looking finished.

Will Aurora Water's turf replacement program pay for artificial turf?
Utility turf-replacement programs on the Front Range are generally written for living, water-wise landscaping and often exclude artificial turf. Check the current program terms before planning around a rebate.
