Artificial turf and hardscaping in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Colorado Springs sits over six thousand feet up, which means strong sun, a dry wind and a lawn that needs a lot of water to look like much. West-side lots near the foothills add slope and wildfire to the list. Most of our work here is swapping thirsty grass for turf and rock, and building usable flat space on ground that does not want to be flat.

What is different about Colorado Springs yards

Altitude means more UV

Sun at this elevation is harder on every outdoor surface. For turf that makes the UV rating and the warranty worth reading closely, and for pavers it makes colour choice matter, since some blends fade faster than others in full exposure.

Foothill lots need walls and a drainage plan

West-side neighbourhoods can drop several feet across a backyard. Terracing with retaining walls is often the only way to get a level patio, and taller walls need engineering and a permit. We flag that at the estimate rather than after the fact.

Rock near the house is a wildfire decision too

In the wildland-urban interface, the ground right against the house matters. Fire-safety guidance generally favours non-combustible material like rock in that first few feet over bark mulch. If your lot backs onto open space, we design that zone with it in mind.

Clay in some places, decomposed granite in others

Soil across the city varies a lot, from expansive clay to granite-based ground near the mountains. We check what we are actually digging into before we set base depth, because the right answer is not the same across town.

Colorado Springs questions

Does artificial turf hold up at Colorado Springs elevation?

Yes, with the right product. UV is the main stress, so we spec turf for high exposure and go through the warranty with you. Snow and freeze-thaw are not a problem for a properly built base.

Do I need a permit for a retaining wall?

Walls above a certain height need an engineered design and a permit. The threshold is set locally, so we check current requirements before scoping a wall rather than guessing.

Can you work with my HOA in Briargate or Stetson Hills?

Yes. We provide the scope, materials and dimensions for your submittal. Getting approval is between you and the board, so it is worth starting early.
