Artificial turf and hardscaping in Pleasant Grove, Utah

Pleasant Grove has more mature tree canopy than most of the valley, and shade is the reason a lot of our work here starts. Grass that gets four hours of filtered sun a day never fills in, gets walked thin, and turns to mud every spring. Turf does not care how much sun it gets.

What is different about Pleasant Grove yards

Shade is the number-one reason people call here

Under a mature canopy, natural grass loses. Turf holds color and density in full shade, which makes it one of the few landscape products that genuinely performs better than the thing it replaces in that specific condition.

Tree roots dictate the layout

Large trees mean shallow root plates. We would rather move a patio edge or reduce excavation depth in a root zone than take out roots and lose the tree — the tree is usually worth more than the extra six square feet.

Bench slope sends water downhill

East-side Pleasant Grove lots pick up slope off the bench. Any hardscape across that slope needs a plan for where water goes during snowmelt, not just during a summer rain.

Pleasant Grove questions

Will turf look right under heavy shade?

Yes — that is one of its genuine advantages. It holds the same color and density in deep shade that it does in full sun.

Will excavation hurt my trees?

It can, which is why we plan around root zones. Where a tree is close, we adjust the layout or the depth rather than cutting through the roots.
